![]() Long before she enrolled in Bastyr University of Naturopathic Medicine, she attended lectures and workshops, and began collecting articles and information on natural healing. She realized that information is power, and her desire was and continues to be to empower people with information. While still in naturopathic medical school, she began writing articles and offering public lectures on health-related topics. She went on to write many more articles for national and international magazines, wrote and published two books, and appeared on television and radio programs. Dr. Urbaniak has been in alternative primary patient care for these last ten years; she established her own healing center in 1997, and has had a great deal of experience in helping people get well and stay well. As website visitors may or may not know, the job of a physician is a very demanding one. Physical, mental and emotional stamina is a prerequisite to be able to deal with sick people and their problems. After being struck in four consecutive car accidents and sustaining a serious neck injury, the doctor became a patient herself, and was unable to continue working as she previously had. This "induced hiatus" actually gave her the opportunity to set out to reach even more people through the development of this website, and her dream of helping to empower people with solid and dependable information about natural healing is now becoming a reality.
