Dr. Eva Urbaniak is a licensed naturopathic physician, published author of two books, freelance writer, public speaker and consultant. She received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and bachelor's degree in Human Sciences from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington in 1992. Knowing Dr. John Bastyr personally for over fifteen years exerted a powerful influence on her life (and career choice). Her undergraduate studies and work included psychology and dentistry. "As a dental auxiliary, I saw many conditions of the mouth, teeth and gums, which were often related to lifestyle issues such as poor nutrition and smoking rather than specific dental problems, so this made me even more interested in nutrition as a means of preventing disease. I would tell my smoking patients, did you know that each cigarette you smoke robs you of 100 mg of vitamin C? Or if a patient had a case of oral thrush (yeast overgrowth) after a course of antibiotics, I would suggest that eating a container of yogurt could help treat and prevent thrush."

Long before she enrolled in Bastyr University of Naturopathic Medicine, she attended lectures and workshops, and began collecting articles and information on natural healing. She realized that information is power, and her desire was and continues to be to empower people with information.

While still in naturopathic medical school, she began writing articles and offering public lectures on health-related topics. She went on to write many more articles for national and international magazines, wrote and published two books, and appeared on television and radio programs.

Dr. Urbaniak has been in alternative primary patient care for these last ten years; she established her own healing center in 1997, and has had a great deal of experience in helping people get well and stay well. As website visitors may or may not know, the job of a physician is a very demanding one. Physical, mental and emotional stamina is a prerequisite to be able to deal with sick people and their problems. After being struck in four consecutive car accidents and sustaining a serious neck injury, the doctor became a patient herself, and was unable to continue working as she previously had. This "induced hiatus" actually gave her the opportunity to set out to reach even more people through the development of this website, and her dream of helping to empower people with solid and dependable information about natural healing is now becoming a reality.
